A Weekend In Miami

 

 

 

My last vacation was Paris September 2019. Since then, like most people, being at home 24/7 other than a few grocery store trips, has been my life. I was in dire need of a break so I took a mini weekend trip to Miami, Fl. I’m so glad I did and I wanted to share my Miami experience during COVID.

Overall, my trip was nothing less than amazing. I felt safe the entire time (minus once, I will get to that later) and my time was well spent from the hotel, to restaurants, and more. Meanwhile, check out my Instagram Reel here for a quick recap!

 

My Hotel

 

I love a hotel with a view and I love a hotel that isn’t crowded. So when I visit Miami, I always stay in the Downtown Brickell area because South Beach can be hectic.. My favorite hotel in Downtown Miami is Kimpton Epic Hotel. I love this hotel particularly because of the views and it’s within walking distance of Whole Foods, CVS, Brickell City Centre, and several restaurants. If you choose to stay at this hotel, you have the option of choosing a city view or water view. My favorite is the rooftop pool and rooftop views.

Hotel Dining

The hotel has two restaurants, Area 31 and Zuma. Area 31 serves breakfast lunch and dinner. Zuma is Japanese cuisine that is served for lunch and dinner. Room service is not available at the moment due to COVID but you can order your food to go and have a meal in your room or you can have a meal in the outside dining area overlooking Biscayne Bay,

 

 

Downtown Brickell

I love staying downtown Brickell because everything is within walking distance. Shopping and restaurants. Brickell City Centre offers various shopping from Saks Fifth Avenue to Zara. It’s in a gorgeous area that gives beautiful views of Downtown Miami. I wasn’t in Miami very long so I only got a chance to have one nice dinner, which was at Truluck’s. I had the BEST Seafood dinner including King Crab, lobster mashed potatoes, and asparagus, followed by a yummy dessert.

 

 

I highly suggest staying at Kimpton Epic Hotel. I’ve stayed multiple times and I’ve never been disappointed. You will definitely enjoy your stay and the areas surrounding. Everyone wore a mask in public areas and felt pretty safe overall. I understand the concerns surrounding COVID and traveling and will suggest traveling only if you feel comfortable..
